About Us

Bike New York’s Recycle-A-Bicycle shop is a community-based store that offers sales and service. The bicycles begin as donations and are sold fully refurbished. Proceeds directly support Bike New York’s wide variety of educational programming.

Through innovative programs including Bike Path, Earn-A-Bike, High School Internships, and Summer Youth Employment Program, Recycle-A-Bicycle has been dedicated to the health, development, stewardship, and empowerment of NYC youth for more than 20 years! On average, RAB salvages 1,800 bicycles each year from the waste stream, diverting a total of 45,000 pounds of waste from NYC’s landfills. Every purchase from Bike New York’s Recycle-A-Bicycle Shop directly supports our education programs.

Recycle-A-Bicycle

Our retail store, located at 450 Grand Ave in Clinton Hill, stocked with refurbished donated bikes that are ready to ride! The shop also offers a variety of new accessories including helmets, lights, locks, and a wide range of new and donated bicycle parts.

Bike Lab

This training space, found at 4014 1st Ave, 26-315 in Industry City, hosts maintenance classes, Bicycle Repair Courses, open bench hours, and houses our popular used parts and apparel bins. Additional programming, including Bike Path and Earn-A-Bike, also take place at this location. All donated bikes are processed at the Bike Lab where they undergo a full restoration and refurbishment to ride like new!
